Stephanie V, Buscando un de cuidador de personas mayores en Valencia (46023)
Alzheimer’s Caregiver – 10–20h/week
(English speaking is a must) We are looking for a warm, energetic and proactive caregiver to support my mother, who has Alzheimer's but is still physically active and able to participate in many everyday activities.
We are looking for someone who will actively engage with her, rather than simply provide supervision. An important part of the role is taking initiative and finding ways to keep her active, stimulated and involved throughout the day, for example, going for walks, having coffee, listening to music, doing simple activities together, doing gym workouts, going to watch live music, going to events for elderly, helping around the house, or finding other enjoyable things to do based on her mood and abilities.
The role also includes day-to-day personal care and support, such as:
Preparing and assisting with meals
Helping with dressing and personal hygiene when needed
Keeping her environment clean and organised
Supporting her daily routine
Accompanying her outside and to appointments when necessary
Providing companionship and meaningful interaction
Proactively planning activities and outings
Experience caring for someone with Alzheimer's or dementia is preferred but not required. We are especially looking for someone who is patient, affectionate, reliable and is genuinely caring and interested in her wellbeing.
The position would initially be approximately 10–20 hours per week, with some flexibility depending on availability and our care schedule. There may also be the possibility of additional hours in the future, including occasional holiday or additional care coverage.
The most important thing for us is finding someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with an active older person and understands that good dementia care is not only about meeting basic needs, but also about maintaining quality of life, independence and engagement.
